STI Announces First Ever Translator of the Year!
WASHINGTON, D.C. – January 21, 2008 – Schreiber Translations, Inc. (STI) is pleased to announce and congratulate Don Ullmann of Conway, South Carolina, on earning the STI Translator of the Year Award for 2007. As one of STI’s German to English translators for more than ten years, Ullmann was described as “highly professional, hard-working, and always a real pleasure to work with,” by Private Sector Project Manager, David Evseeff.
In addition to translating, Ullmann is also a part-time instructor at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC. Prior to beginning his career in linguistics, he attended The United States Military Academy at West Point, received two Masters Degrees, and spent twenty years as a U.S. Army Foreign Area Officer, with 11 years of residence in Germany.
Upon learning that he received this award, Ullmann praised STI for allowing him to thrive in a career that means so much to him. "Schreiber Translations, Inc. really cares about its translators, as evidenced by the establishment of such an award. Being named its first recipient is an overwhelming honor which caught me by total surprise. I treasure my relationship with all of my colleagues at STI, and acknowledge their very significant contribution to all I have done,” said Ullmann.
The Translator of the Year is chosen from a pool of STI’s Translator of the Quarter recipients. The individuals selected for this quarterly award are voted on by STI staff based on proven quality, consistency, timeliness, communication, teamwork, and willingness to go above and beyond. For being STI’s first Translator of the Year, Ullmann received a cash prize and formal recognition from STI.
