Amharic and Amharic Translation
This is a Semitic language spoken in North Central Ethiopia, and represents the second most widely spoken Semitic language in the word, next to Arabic. Besides being the "official working language" in Ethiopia, Amharic is also spoken by about 2.7 million emigrants, located mostly in Egypt, Israel, Sweden, and the United States, as well as among the educated populace of Eritrea from the pre-independence period. Many Rastafarians also learn Amharic as a second language, as they consider it to be a sacred language.
Amharic is written using the Ge'ez alphabet (adapted from the classical Ge'ez language used in ancient Ethiopian scripture). There is currently no standard method for transliterating the Amharic language into the Roman alphabet.
Because of the rapid growth of Ethiopian communities in Europe and America, specifically in the Washington, D.C., Minneapolis, and Seattle areas, there has been an increasing demand for Amharic translation services.
We can offer services from English to any language and from any language to English. If you do not see your language listed here, please contact Schreiber Translations for a personal assessment of your language project. We can help!
