Basque and Basque Translation
This is the language spoken by the Basque people in North-Central Spain and South-western France. Basque is considered to be a "language isolate," meaning that it is not related to other Indo-European languages. Therefore, its history and development is unclear, although it has been demonstrated that it is likely related to the ancient Aquitanian language. It is likely that an early form of proto-Basque was already present in Europe before the arrival of the Indo-European languages.
Basque currently holds co-official status with Spanish in the Basque region of Spain, although it has no official standing in the Basque regions of France. There are six main dialects of Basque, with the Batua dialect being the most widely used. Basque is written using the Latin alphabet.
