Hakha Chin (also known as "Chin" or "Pawi") is a language spoken in southern Asia by approximately 450,000 people, and is effectively the lingua franca in the Chin State of Burma. Speakers of Hakha Chin are largely from the Lai Pawi tribe, and there are three main dialects: Klangklang, Zokhua and Shonshe.
Hakha Chin is a member of the non-Sinitic group of Tibeto-Burman languages of the Sino-Tibetan language family, and words in the Hakha Chin language are predominantly monosyllabic. Hakha Chin utilizes the Latin alphabet in its written form.
