Kirghiz and Kirghiz Translation
Kirghiz is a Turkic language, and one of the two official languages of Kirghizstan (the other being Russian). There are approximately 4 million speakers of Kirghiz in Kirghizstan, Russia, China, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Pakistan.
Kirghiz is primarily written using the Cyrillic alphabet, although it can also be written with the Latin alphabet. Since independence in 1991, the Kirghiz government has pushed for greater public use and acceptance of the Kirghiz language, as opposed to Russian.
