Malagasy and Malagasy Translation
This is the national language of Madagascar. Malagasy has a limited relationship with nearby African languages, being the westernmost member of the Austro-Polynesian language family. It is related to the languages of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Borneo. Most of its vocabulary is shared with the Maanyan language of Southern Borneo and it also has borrowings from Bantu languages: Swahili, Arabic, French and English.
Malagasy has a highly unusual Verb-Object-Subject word order, and verbs can either be sejunctive or adjunctive. It has been written using the Latin alphabet since the 19th century. Prior to that, it was written using the Arabic Ajami script, or "Sorabe," which it is known as in Madagascar.
We can offer services from English to any language and from any language to English. If you do not see your language listed here, please contact Schreiber Translations for a personal assessment of your language project. We can help!
