Marla Schulman

As President of Schreiber Translations, Inc. (STI), one of the leading language services companies in the U.S., Marla Schulman has over 10 years of management experience in the translation industry. Under her leadership, STI, which provides translation, interpretation, foreign language desktop publishing, and localization services in all languages, has grown 25% over the last four years. Schulman has competed for and won some of the largest translation projects issued by U.S. government agencies and private firms, such as NASA and Shearman & Sterling. Schulman has demonstrated a strong track-record of commitment to the field of translation. She currently serves as the elected President of the Association of Language Companies (www.alcus.org), an organization to which STI belongs as a Charter Member. In addition to her work at STI and in the translation industry, she is a newly elected board member of B’nai Israel Congregation, and a board member of the Montgomery County Multiple Sclerosis Center.
Mordecai Schreiber

Mordecai Schreiber is best known in the translation field for two accomplishments: first, as founder (in 1979) of Schreiber Translations, Inc. in Rockville, Maryland, a leader in the field and one of the main providers of language services to U.S. Government agencies. Second, as the author of The Translator's Handbook, now in its 5th revised edition, a practical guide used by translators around the world. Schreiber has authored over 40 books and book translations, and has spoken at translator conferences. In 1998 Schreiber started a publishing company, Schreiber Publishing, the only provider of books and training materials in the U.S. designed specifically for linguists.
Mit Shattuck

Mit is the Chief Operating Officer for STI. Mit has more than 12 years of international business experience including 8 years in the translation industry. Having lived and worked in Europe, Asia and South America, Mit has considerable knowledge of the importance of languages as related to cultural diversity. His experience includes private sector and government work abroad, including 5 years working with Welocalize, Inc. as the Vice President of Global Operations. Mit's expertise is Leadership, Operations and Project Management, Process Methodology and Sales. Mit also served in the U.S. Army for 8 years and is familiar with Spanish and German.
