Telugu and Telugu Translation
This is a Dravidian language spoken primarily in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, and one of the 22 official languages of India. It is the Dravidian language with the largest number of speakers, and the third most spoken language in India after Hindi and Bengali. There are approximately 86.1 million total speakers.
Nineteenth-century Englishmen referred to Telugu as the "Italian of the East," as all native words in Telugu end with a vowel. In terms of vocabulary, Telugu has a base of words that are Dravidian in origin, although it also has a wide variety of words that are of Sanskrit/Prakrit origin. Today, Telugu is considered the Dravidian language with the most Indo-Aryan influence. Particularly in the Hyderabad region, the dialect of Telugu has a large number of Persian and Arabic borrowings, which have been made to fit the Telugu phonology.
Telugu has an abugida writing system (in which consonant signs are inherently associated with a following vowel) from the Brahmic family of scripts.
