Xhosa and Xhosa Translation
This language is one of eleven official languages of the Republic of South Africa, and is spoken by around 8 million people. It is the second most common home language in the country. Xhosa is a tonal language, and one of its unique features is its use of "click consonants." Xhosa is related to the Nguni languages, and the larger Bantu group. There is some mutual intelligibility between Xhosa and Swati, Northern Ndebele, and Zulu. The most famous speaker of the Xhosa language is former South African president Nelson Mandela.
